In-person absentee voting continues with weekend voting beginning on Saturday, October 24th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 25th, from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. Next week, Monday through Friday (October 26 to 30), our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ALL HOURS for absentee voting are under ‘NEWS – Meetings & Notices’.
All of our voting equipment is working as it should, and we are following CDC guidelines by allowing three voters in our office at a time.
If you have requested an absentee ballot by mail, you can return the ballot to our dropbox at our front door (marked ‘Ottawa County Board of Elections – big gray box). It is available 24/7, monitored and secure – we check it every day. You do not need a stamp on your ballot to place in our dropbox. You also do not need to stand in line to place your ballot in the dropbox.
All ballots requested by mail or voted in-person in our office are considered early voting/absentee ballots and are counted on Election Day and are the first numbers reported to the Secretary of State.
Your ballet can be tracked at this link: VOTER VIEW (fill in ONLY asterisked information [election, last name, birthdate). Once you are in Voter View, select ‘Absentee Ballot’ on the top bar. Click on ‘Ballot Detail’ to see information about your ballot.
